OVERVIEW
The research team of the Project Cybernetic being has joined the WITH ALS team. They aim to achieve more physical communications, such as stage performances, handshakes, and high-fives, using an extended body (cybernetic avatar) that can be controlled by brainwaves. During the KICK-OFF GIG, with the technical cooperation of NTT Computer & Data Science Research Institute and NTT Sonority Corporation, they utilized open-ear headphones (nwm MWE001) capable of confining sound to a very small space. This allows for the presentation of brainwave detection sounds directly to the user’s ear without blocking them and without leaking to the surrounding audience. As a result, it is now possible to listen to the venue’s sounds while achieving a physical DJ performance using brainwaves.
WITH ALSのチームとProject Cybernetic beingのコラボレーションにより、ステージパフォーマンス、握手、ハイタッチなどの、より身体的なコミュニケーションを、脳波で操作可能な拡張身体（サイバネティック・アバター）により実現。プロジェクトのKICK-OFF GIGでは、NTTコンピュータ&データサイエンス研究所とNTTソノリティ株式会社の技術協力により、ごく小さな空間に音をとどめられるオープンイヤー型イヤホン（nwm MWE001）を活用し、 耳を塞ぐことなく脳波の検出用の音を周囲の観客に漏らさず耳元に提示をすることが可能となりました。これにより、会場の音を聴きながら脳波を用いた身体的なDJパフォーマンスを実現。
